This comprehensive 2-day training course is designed for seafarers, loading masters, and mooring pilots involved in the vetting of oil, chemical, and liquefied gas tankers. Led by an experienced vetting and tanker inspection specialist, the course provides in-depth knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISGOTT, the SIRE programme, and Oil Record Books. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the vetting process, including how decisions are made, key inspection areas, essential equipment, systems, and documentation requirements.
Now incorporating OCIMF’s SIRE 2.0 approach, the course covers standard vessel inspection questionnaires, regulatory compliance, and best practices. It explores both technical and operational aspects, from shipboard systems to safety management, and includes hands-on exercises and real-life scenarios to enhance practical understanding. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to conduct effective inspections and make well-informed vetting decisions.
