Description

The IMO Model Course 3.11: Safety Investigation into Marine Casualties and Marine Incidents is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to safely and competently investigate accidents, near misses, marine casualties, and marine incidents. The course aligns with the industry’s best practices and the provisions of the Casualty Investigation Code (Resolution MSC.255(84)), ensuring compliance with international standards.

Participants will learn to systematically apply investigative techniques to identify root causes, contributing factors, and underlying issues leading to incidents. The course emphasizes critical skills such as evidence collection and analysis, interviewing techniques, and effective documentation. The ISM Navigation Auditor course looks at the skills, traits and understanding necessary to audit Navigation against ISM and OCIMF’s MSA.It also looks at best practice of modern navigation, how to gather evidence of compliance, and the process of conducting audits, surveys and inspections. We cross certify to the IMO 1.30 Onboard Assessment traininng and the Level 3 Understanding the Principles and Practice of Assessment

ISM Superintendents Training Package

The Superintendent’s Training Package includes a number of sub-courses, and the scheduling for these will be tailored to your needs, within 18 months of starting training. This includes incident investigation, DPA, CSO, Train the Instructor, Dry BMS, Management Self-Assessment, Navigation Auditing, ISM / ISO Lead Auditor and Tanker Vettings.
